Since I was a little girl my dream was to run a small B&B with a small restaurant serving good quality food in the middle of nowhere in Scotland. As life would have it, things change. However recently, my childhood dream might not be so far away. There is one key difference though… it will be in Belgium!
Although it is scary to try to change career and to try and do that in a foreign country in a foreign language, I clearly enjoy a challenge.
At the age of 34, my husband and I have bought an old abandoned farm with no electricity, nor running water, in the small village of Bossut, Grez-Doiceau in the Belgium countryside. The aim is to convert the barn into a small gîte and cooking school. The cooking school will combine my knowledge and passion for teaching with my knowledge and passion for food. We hope to also cater for special occasions, including birthday and wedding cakes, and the occasional community Table d’Hôte. It will be called SPOONS.
